Lead a local chapter

Students 14 and older can apply to establish and run a local Enable Me Now chapter. Running a chapter means working with one or more local community centers to coordinate workshops where you and volunteers that you recruit will help people with their devices. Volunteers are usually students at your school who will earn community service credits for participating.

We are going to help you.

  • Get training on how to manage workshops from start to finish
  • You’ll get a checklist of smartphone features to share and the basics of what to say when speaking with people
  • Volunteers who help at your workshops can earn community service hours

You will gain valuable experience.

Managing an Enable Me Now chapter is a lot of work, including recruiting volunteers to help you at workshops and coordinating with community organization leaders.

These are real world experiences which many people don’t get until they are much older.

It feels good to help people.

Giving back to your community by volunteering is rewarding, especially when you see the results of your efforts immediately like you will at Enable Me Now workshops.

The service is fun and easy for most of us. The poeple you will help are usually amazed at how much easier you can make things for them.

How you will help people

As teens we know more than most about how to use Siri, set ringtones and even accessibility options like assistive touch. Most of these things that are simple for us are not so simple for everyone. By creating and running a local chapter on Enable Me Now you are going share your skills with poeple who most need the assistance.
